German Vanillekipferl


  • 300 g flour
  • 125 g sugar
  • 8 g vanilla sugar
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 125 g ground almonds
  • 250 g butter
  • icing sugar


  1. Place flour in a large flat bowl. Make a whole with your hand in the middle and place there sugar, vanilla sugar and egg yolks. Mix all ingredients well.
  2. Cut butter into small pieces.
  3. Add butter and almonds to the mixture. Mix all ingredients well.
  4. Now your dough is ready! Let it rest in the fridge for 30min.
  5. Roll the dough into 2cm thick rolls. Cut the rolls into slices and form little crescents.
  6. Bake the cookies at 180 degrees for 12-15 minutes.
  7. Sprinkle them with icing sugar when still warm.
  8. Let them cool down on a rack before serving.
